My grandmother died of mouth cancer and went through
a lot of disfiguring facial operations which upset her greatly.
With the increase in unfiltered illegal drugs being smoked with
tobacco and the increase in excessive alcohol consumption amongst
the young particularly, mouth cancer is becoming a problem in
this country. “Saving Faces” is a
charity which helps people come to terms with the effects of facial
surgery.
With leftover and donated beads I make up little
bead boxes to sell for charity. They cost £6 including P&P,
with £5 going directly to charity for every box sold. Each
box contains enough beads and cord to make two or three necklaces
and some elastic to make one or two bracelets. The boxes are available
at events I attend. If you would like to donate beads, elastic,
cord, or indeed little boxes, please contact
me.
